The only thing we have to fear is fear itself...

If the only thing we have to fear is fear itself then why does a mouse scurrying across my kitchen floor make me jump?

Yes oh yes I have mice. I have been hearing scratching coming from my kitchen for almost 2 weeks now but we've never seen any signs of them. No droppings, no weird smells (besides the "normal" weird smells that comes with living in an old and breaking down apartment!), no nothing! Just scratching every now and then from the walls. Then last night Daniel walked into the kitchen saw one run from under the stove to under the fridge. EEWWWW! We put in a work request order immediately after that ( which they still haven't come and I waited all day!) and I scrubbed the kitchen clean. This morning while I was getting dressed the baby was playing with an empty box by our bedroom door. A mouse came running up inches from the baby, stopped, then turned around and headed back to its cozy little nook under my stove. The baby saw it and started after it as fast as he could. AAAHHHH! It's bad enough it's coming out and showing itself in broad daylight let alone having my kid try and befriend it!!

So my question is...why am I so freaked out? If I was able to deal with THIS in Indonesia....

... then why am I so scared of THIS???

Perhaps I'll just train them to be like the little mice on Cinderella and make them do my chores for me! It would be nice to have some extra hands (or in this case paws) to help out sometimes.

P.S Does anyone have a clothing pattern for these little guys??

......just kidding!

Oh my heart goes OUT to you! EEEEE!

It's nice to know that while you're waiting for maintenance to take care of it, John is so willing to take matters into his own hands.

Just to let you know....I now have a baby mouse living under my stove. I watched him run around my house about 3 times yesterday. As cute as he looks being sooooo tiny....I'm going to have to crank out the mouse traps. They look cute when they are so small but the poop is not so cute to clean up.
