Daniel's birthday today has so far consisted of work, writing a nasty 30 page final paper, and this...Don't worry honey on Friday we'll party the night away with cake and ice cream and FUN!!

4th Hair Cut

John is 8 months old and he has had 4 hair cuts already. I love this kids hair! When he was born his hair was BLACK and now it's turning into a dusky blond color. It reminds me of my dads hair. He sat there really quiet while we trimmed it up with the clippers. Daniel also had his hair cut. I should have taken a picture of the pile of hair by the time we finished. It was so cute to see how light John's hair is now compared to when we gave him his first hair cut and Daniel and John's hair was the same color!!

Dessert Contest

Yesterday our neighbor hosted a dessert contest that Daniel and I both made a dessert for. I made a "Perfect Patriotic Pie" which consisted of a homemade no-bake cheesecake with an American flag on the front (blueberries and strawberries) and Daniel made an "Easy I.S.I Cake" which was none other than Ice cream Snickers and Ice cream. It was like a big ice cream snickers sandwich! Everyone liked the originality and simplicity of his dessert.There were SO many good desserts to try I left on a total sugar high!

We stole our good friend Melissa away from writing her papers to come with us. I think she was ok with being dragged to a dessert party!!

Thank you Lee for setting that up. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad we did it!

Pushing Daisies

I started watching this show via the Internet a little while ago and I just finished it last night. Can I tell you how incredibly sad I am that this show has been canceled?! It is SUCH a cute show and I thoroughly enjoyed watching every episode. I was especially sad to watch the final episode because it ended so abruptly. They could have kept the show going for a long time but alas it was never meant to be.

I've learned something about myself lately....If I get interested in something I can't focus on anything else until it is done! Case and point right here. I really should have been doing other more important things (like cleaning my house, making dinner, paying attention to my baby and husband) but all I wanted to do was watch this show until it was completely finished. I just had to find out what happened next. This exact same thing happened a few months ago when I got hooked on the Twilight books. Those were 10 times worse because I'm a VERY slow reader so it took extra long. Maybe that's why I don't enjoy reading as much. But anyway I will miss watching more of the adventures of...
