Update

Here are a few random pictures and stuff that has been going on lately that I've neglected until now to post. I have had the flu this last week and just today became well enough to get out of bed! I'm feeling so much better now and hope that I will be back to my 100% soon but I'm still a bit weak and am taking full advantage of my marvelous husband who has been so incredibly sweet to me bringing me food, take care of the baby, and making sure the kitchen stayed clean while I've been laying on my death bed!!! Thanks sweetheart :)

Anyway, on with the show...

John cracks me up every time we feed him and this happens...
He will seriously fall asleep in mid bite. He usually gets about half way through his food sometimes all the way up until his last 2 bites then falls asleep. It's pretty hilarious!

A few Sundays ago we had some friends over for dinner and John had SO much fun playing with their kids. I only took a few pictures which is a pity because they are some pretty cute kids. I'm so glad they were able to come. We had a lot of fun together.

I love how surprised they look in this picture!~
Yeah we're not sure what the word "share" means yet!

One of my favorite Primary girls was baptized the a few weeks ago. I was so happy I was able to go and support her. She's such a sweetie!
This was one of the most amazing things I think I've ever seen....I was making breakfast one morning and I cracked an egg into a bowl and it had 2 yolks!! I have never seen that before :) I've heard of it happening but I personally have never seen a double yolked egg before in my life. I was on the phone to my sister at the time and was so excited I hung up the phone on her and took a picture of it!! I'm such a nerd I know but I thought it was pretty cool.

The same day as the amazing double yolked egg I got a text from my husband who had just left for work telling me a tree had fallen down across the parking lot from us. I went outside and saw this...

The tree snapped in half falling in an area that is usually full of playing kids. It's a miracle that no one was around when it happened so no one was hurt because that sucker was big. The next morning they cut the rest of the tree down and chopped it all up.

My poor poor watermelons have been eaten.

A few days after I took this picture these 4 were also eaten when I went to pick them. I had 7 growing at one point and one by one they were devoured by the pesky gofers that have so sneakily found a way into my fenced off garden.
And finally this is John enjoying his morning outdoors with his favorite toy. (the extra noise you hear is the huge tree getting cut up across the street)

John's Favorite Toy

John has been obsessed with playing with this toy lately. He walks all around our courtyard pushing this thing. Each of the alligators mouths open and close when he pushes it and he thinks it's pretty cool. If I try to take him away from it (even if he's already been playing with it FOREVER) he completely freaks out and tries to squirm out of my arms to get back outside so he can resume pushing it! He's such a funny kid. I love my little guy :)

The Big Day...

Today is special for our family for a couple of different reasons:

#1- One year ago today the Tuutau's moved to Santa Barbara! ;)

We loaded up my parents mini-van and our little red car with all of our earthly possessions and set off. The only piece of furniture we had was a futon we received as a wedding present that we used as our bed. Talk about having pretty much nothing when we first moved in!! Daniel knew we would be able to acquire all the furniture and everything we needed from "IV shopping" but I was a little skeptical at first. It's been a year and we now have more stuff then I would have ever thought possible. I LOVE living here!!

#2- My stepmom Sharon's Birthday is today ;)

Last year she spent her birthday helping us move into our new apartment, taking a long walk down the beach near UCSB (where we each got a pound of tar stuck to the bottom of our feet), and eating gigantic burritos at Freebirds!!

#3- John took his first steps today!!! :) ;) :)

He has been taking 2-3 steps by himself here and there for the past week or so. Today we were over at my good friend Melissa's house helping her move. John found a little flag to play with and headed for her stairs. I took him back into the living room and set him down. I thought he would sit himself down like he usually does but instead he started walking forward and took 4 steps. That was the most I had seen him take by himself so I quickly grabbed my phone and tried to get him to do it again. Of course he was being stubborn by this time and wouldn't do it! (I had a camera=stage fright!!) But I persisted and after leaving him by the couch by himself he all of the sudden started walking forward and took about 9 or 10 steps before running into the little red chair I was sitting by. I have been ecstatic all day. Daniel was at work when it happened but at least Melissa and her sister was there to share that moment with me.

Hair Cut #5

I didn't get an after shot because I was too busy giving him a bath and trying to clean up little bits of hair all over the place but I did get a cute little video clip of him getting really annoyed with his dad! I had to stop it so I could distract him with the little toy phone he's playing with in the pictures. I can just imagine what was going through his head when I watch this clip...

"Daaaaaaaaaaaad. Knock it off!!"

I was feeling crafty...

Today I made a wreath for my door! After Easter all of the decorations at KMart were 75%-90% off and Daniel bought me a $24.99 wreath for a buck or two. When he brought it home I took a look at it and thought it was really ugly. It had pink and purple bead clumps all over it that were in some places too close together and others very thinly spread out. It, by itself, was not a pretty sight. So I stuck it in my closet and decided to get something else to dress it up . Last weekend my visiting teacher was moving and we went to help her out. She was getting rid of some things and one of them was the orange and red beads that were strung in a long row above her doorway. It was really cute and the first thing I thought of when I saw those was "They would look great in that wreath". Since she was getting rid of it I took it home with me and cut it into pieces. I took all of the ugly pink and purple beads off and fit the new bead things on. I think it turned out pretty cute. It looks better in person so if any of you find your way to my house any time soon you'll see it for yourself!

P.S- I never realized how much it matches the color of my door until I looked at it in picture form!! I miss my green door :(

10 Months Old

I can't believe my baby is already 10 months old!! Here are 10 of his favorite things to do...1. Take his daddy for a walk to the park... he always has to lead the way!

2. Lately he's really been into making this face and saying "Oh Wow" at just about everything! His favorite things to do this at is when he hears an airplane, see's any type of animal (especially birds) and whenever he's playing with any of his toys or trying to get my attention (which is the rest of the day!!)

3. My little Mozart loves to play the piano...especially if his daddy is playing with him. Anyone who's seen him do this knows how particular he is about pressing the keys and making sure he goes up and down to make the different sounds!

4. This picture doesn't do it justice but this kid has learned how to climb things. I find him in the weirdest positions sometimes stuck on top of something because he's climbed up and can't get back down!! This newly acquired skill has made for a few really awesome bruises so far.

5. He's FINALLY a really good sleeper...well better now than he use to be! He still doesn't sleep all the way through the night but he's sleeping most of the way at least. He takes 2 naps a day a short one in the morning/early afternoon then another one in the late afternoon/evening. The later one is between 1-2 hours!! This is huge for me because he use to only nap for 30-45min tops!
6. John loves to eat and loves to eat a lot! His favorite foods are squash, sweet potato, pears, applesauce, grahm crackers, and anything and everything we are eating! He begs for our food no matter what it is we are eating. Sometimes I will give in but I still keep an eye on what he's eating so I can monitor how healthy his foods are. He still doesn't have teeth but he can eat just about anything with those powerful jaws of his!! By the way we just got him this new chair so we can all eat at the table together. He likes banging on the table begging for our food. Most of the time when we feed him he will randomly fall asleep when he's had enough! My sister can tell you the truth of this. Whenever she is on the Webcam with me and I am feeding him he almost always falls asleep. Most of the time in mid bite even!

7. John LOVES going to the park with his daddy. He especially loves the swings. He really doesn't like playing on the grass but he loves to play in the dirt and ends up trying to eat it and gets it all over himself. He loves watching other kids play and trys so hard to make new friends (and flirt with all the girls!) wherever he goes.

8. John is getting really good at walking all over the place. If he's holding onto something he'll walk around forever! He's started to let go of the furniture but he still doesn't quite have the balance to walk around on his own. He can stand up by himself without holding on to anything but he hasn't stood himself up yet. He just cruises around the house crawling as fast as lightning, walking along the furniture and getting into everything!

9. John absolutely loves the movie Cars and loves playing with his toy Lightning McQueen car his Uncle Sean gave to him. It makes sounds and lights up when you press the button but he prefers to make the sounds himself most of the time and push that car around the house everywhere he goes. He's a very vocal kid and is always making sounds or saying "Dada" "Daddy" "Mama" "Oh Wow" and a series of "Ba Ba Da Da Ya Ya" sounds and anything else he can come up with to make noise.

10. And finally my little Johnny is the sweetest little boy in the world and loves to be happy! He loves to play in the bathtub every night. This night his daddy was peeking around the corner then coming to get him. He was going nuts trying to climb up the walls to get away but he was having a blast. He loves to play, laugh, and brighten up the day. I love being able to play with him every day and watch him grow. He's SO CUTE!!

Happy 10 months old Baby Boy!!
