The Musical Road

Yesterday Daniel and I traveled down to Lancaster, CA (about a 2hr drive from Santa Barbara) to visit Daniel's mother and oldest sister and her family. It turned out to be really fun (except for the whole 'driving in a hot car for 2 hours while huge pregnant' thing!) While we were there Daniel's sister told us about this "musical road" not too far away from her house. I guess Honda made a commercial and they created a series of grooves on the road that when you go over the top of them they give off a certain sound each and it plays music!! It actually plays the Lone Ranger theme song, (The William Tell Overture) but because the grooves were designed specifically for the Honda Civic tires the notes sound a little flat when other cars go over the top of them. Sounds kinda crazy but it was WAY neat to do. There are only like 3 other roads like this in the entire world: Japan, South Korea, and Holland. Daniel's niece Kayla drove us, along with his mom and his other niece Veronica and nephew Jake. It was a good time on a Monday night!!

I guess the residents of that area got so sick of all the cars driving over and over and OVER along that strip of road that they complained and the city is paving over it soon. Oh well, at least Daniel and I had a chance to go over the musical road before it's gone forever!!!

That so cool! Holy cow, I want to go. Do you know if they have already paved over it? That is SO dumb that they are paving over it. And we have a Honda Civic, so that would be totally awesome!
