IT'S A BOY!!

JUST KIDDING!... False alarm.
Over the weekend I had a big scare....my water leaked!! I was getting dressed after taking a shower on Saturday when it happened. Daniel had already left for work so I was home alone. My first thought was that I had accidentally (how do I put this delicately...) 'gone to the bathroom' but it felt different. I decided it was nothing and I should go on with my day until about 1/2 hour later when I started to feel some contractions. I had to run to the bank so I was up and walking around which made it worse. I called my husband and told him what happened and he immediately got off of work and we went to the hospital to get evaluated. We were at the hospital for a few hours while they ran some tests and monitored the baby. I was really nervous about all of this because I'm barely 35 weeks. The nurse said not to worry because if I did have the baby right now that things would be ok, but he'd still be small and what if he was too small, or what if his lungs weren't fully developed, or what if, what if, what if??! I tried to stay calm which was really hard when I had monitors connected to me and I was laying in one of the most uncomfortable beds ever!!...but it really helped that my husband was there with me reassuring me that everything was going to be fine. I have the best husband in the world! Man, I love him so much!! :)

The nurse finally came in and said that everything seemed ok and that I was free to go home. I didn't have any other signs of leakage or anything so I wasn't technically in labor but she did say to be careful because I was still having a lot of contractions. They recommended that I stay off my feet and rest for the next couple of weeks and not do anything that could speed up the process! So I'm not technically on bedrest or anything but I do have to take it easy.

What a silly little boy! I think he did that just to freak his mommy out!! I will tell you one thing...having that experience was a good practice run for Daniel and I. We both were totally unprepared for it. We didn't even have a bag ready to go to the hospital with. At least now we'll be better prepared for when the time REALLY does comes! ;)

wow..well good thing everything is ok. Funny story: When I was pregnant my mom made me laugh so hard that I actually peed my pants! So don't worry if you do..you're allowed to do a lot of things you normally wouldn't be able to do when pregnant..and allowed to be lazy too! The reason I peed was cuz Nevaeh layed on my bladder my whole entire pregnancy! I was peeing every 5 min, I swear!

ahhhh...the false alarms. i'm glad everything is okay though. but remember, the WORST thing you can do is freak out, that can actually cause delivery problems...so...don't freak out (and don't stress that you're freaking out :p)lol. but i bet ya'll are getting excited! i'm so excited for you!!! just get in as many dates as you can before he comes.

so, I haven't checked your blog in a while, and I thought, for just a sec., that we missed the baby announcement! It sounds like he was trying to tell you to get ready. Ah, the joys of first-time parents.
