My Wonderful Garden

I absolutely LOVE my garden. It's not the best looking and the fence seriously needs to be fixed but I think it's the best garden in the world...because it's my very own! The top picture is the sunflower plant I planted back in the spring. It was GIGANTIC! Everyone who passed my garden would tell me how amazing that flower looked. I have to give a shout out to my mom because she was the one that sent me a packet of Sunflower Seeds in the mail so I dedicate this gorgeous looking flower to her!
The sunflower died last week and was so heavy (this thing was SERIOUSLY the biggest sunflower I have EVER seen in my entire life...period) that it snapped the plant. I cut it off and took it home to research how to save the seeds. I left it on my back porch and got on the computer. A little while later I saw the baby over at the window of the door pointing to the sunflower and saying "Oooooohhh, Ooooooooooh" I went over to see what he was looking at and there were squirrels and birds all over it eating all the sunflower seeds! I ended up getting rid of my plan to save the seeds and let the animals have their fill while John and I watched and pointed from the window!!

Another wonderful thing about my garden this year has been my corn and watermelon. This picture was taken before the watermelon plants hit a growth spirt and grew all over the place. I have 6 big watermelon growing right now and there's almost nowhere to walk inside my plot because of how big the watermelon plants got. This shows the corn pretty good though. We grew A LOT of corn. For some reason it didn't register in my head when I planted it that every seed became one ginormous corn stock so I planted a bunch of seeds in one little area. I ended up having to move them around and take some other plants out in order keep them. I got a lot of corn this year all at the same time! We had to go around and give some corn to our neighbors which was so much fun.
The baby absolutely LOVES going to the garden with me. He especially likes to eat the dirt and pull out everything he can get his hands on. I found him once making disgusted faces sucking on an onion he pulled out of the ground!! He's mommy's little gardener! :)

(John looks like he has a bottom tooth in this picture but in all reality he is STILL not teething in the slightest!)
And finally this is a picture of the corn I grew. It tasted really good :)
