Ok ok we didn't actually feed our child a hamburger and french fries for his first "meal"!!! But you have to admit the pictures were pretty cute!! :) :) I think I had more fun putting ketchup on his face and making him hold a french fry than he did sitting there not knowing or caring about what was going on!
Instead we made up a bowl of some good ol' fashened rice cereal and let him have at it. He was insistent on holding the spoon himself the whole time. He even had a grip on the bowl and would eat what was on the spoon and then dunk the spoon into the bowl and swish it around making a mess all over his hands, my hands, and all the way down his face and bib.
The rice cereal was a huge success! This makes me really happy because instead of sucking me dry like he has the past few days he has something else to help fill him up. Another awesome thing for me to look forward to is....No more EXPLODING diapers!!!
...And by the way, he really does like to drink from a cup! He always reaches for mine and will guzzle it for a few seconds then when he's had enough he starts playing with it and slobbering all over it. ....yum....backwash!!

LOL backwash, so fun! That's awesome he loves baby cereal. Nevaeh is not a fan! John is so freakin' cute. I think him and Nevaeh should get married.
Get used to the backwash, it's only gonna get worse!
Starting solids is such a wonderful time. It's so wonderful not to be sucked dry anymore. It's even better when they start eating finger foods and other table foods so they can feed themselves!
